I left the theater full of many of the emotions depicted on screen because the story, more than anything, is very serious at its core. Here's the amazing thing about "Inside Out." I walked into the theater expecting the standard feel-good comedy/animated movie Pixar and Disney have become famous for creating. Meanwhile, Joy and Sadness must learn to rely on each other to find their way back to command center before Riley completely loses her personality. Pretty soon, Riley's entire personality is on the verge of crumbling as she struggles to deal with moving to a new city, leaving her friends behind and attending a new school. When Joy tries to prevent Sadness from touching other core memories, a mishap involving headquarters occurs, shooting Joy and Sadness into the further recesses of Riley's mind - and leaving Disgust, Fear and Anger alone in the command center.
